During the course of our existence as a band, we always had a female singer. Charade's music could be described as guitar-oriented hard rock. I like to think that we sounded like ourselves. People often told me our music sounded like anything from Heart to the Scorpions.
Charade was formed in 1989.
Charade’s first show was played on January 9, 1990. Within two weeks, they were taped at DeAnza College for a 30 minute television show which aired on the college's cable channel.
Charade played in most of the major south bay clubs between 1990 and 1994, including opening shows for Foghat and Gary Richrath (of R.E.O. Speedwagon) in 1990.
After Charade’s last show in 1994, the band members went their separate ways.
In November of 1996 production was completed on a 15 song CD which features music from Charade's demo tapes, including a song that was in the works when Catherine left in 1992, and two other songs that were being recorded when the band broke up in 1994.
